Lloxy Lucas

Get to know Lloxy and check out her artwork available through the Positive Work Art Auction, going live January 16th, 2024!

“Lloxy’s art is a reflection of the colourful world that she sees around her, populated by strange and wonderful creatures that exist only in her imagination. As a person with Down Syndrome, her unique perspective allows her to see the world in a way that is both playful and profound. She creates her art using the style of Art Brut, which is characterized by its raw, unfiltered expression and its rejection of traditional artistic conventions.

Through her art, she explores themes of otherness, identity, and belonging, drawing inspiration from the rich world of fantasy and mythology. Her artwork is characterized by its vibrant colours, bold shapes, and the strange and unusual creatures that inhabit it. From misshapen monsters to fanciful animals, each of her creations has its own distinct personality and backstory.

Through her art, she hopes to inspire others to see the world in a different way, to embrace their own unique perspectives, and to find beauty in the unconventional. She believes that art has the power to connect us all, and she is grateful for the opportunity to share her colourful world with others.”

“Loxandra LLoxy Lucas is the first Down Syndrome actress to sign with the National Theatre of Greece. She has been an active founding member of the En Dynamei Ensemble Theatre group. She has been featured in movies, TV series, dance performances, daytime television, TV adverts and is also the first Down Syndrome actress to perform in the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus with the Greek tragedy "Trojan Women".

Her biggest difficulty in life is verbal communication so from a young age she used her dancing and painting as a form of expression. In recent years she has really devoted herself in her painting and has created a series of murals in Greece. Her first solo exhibition is about to launch in the start of 2024 in her hometown Thessaloniki and later on will move to Athens mid 2024. She has participated in group exhibitions in the Boomer Gallery in London UK among other places. LLoxy wishes to expand her acting career internationally and get to share her artwork with the world. “
