Our Mission
Positive Work® is a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that's all about making the workplace more inclusive for people with both visible and invisible disabilities.
We've partnered with some amazing organizations that focus on Autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD, Blind, Deaf, and physical disabilities to bring you the best training out there.
Why is this important? We've seen way too many stories of people with disabilities being mistreated by teachers, police officers, and other employees. And get this, 56% of families with disabilities won't visit a city, business, or organization that isn't trained to interact with and accommodate them. Most workplace training programs may only focus on one specific disability, but we believe in being genuinely inclusive and welcoming to everyone. That's why we provide training on all the different types of disabilities in one convenient platform. It's kind of like a one-stop-shop for all your disability inclusion needs.
Our Goals
Our goal is to make sure that businesses, organizations, managers, and employees can handle any situation with poise and confidence.
Ensure that every employee who interacts with a colleague with a disability has received training that allows them to be caring, compassionate, and accepting of that person.
To increase the number of people with disabilities hired in the workplace and feel comfortable, accepted in the workplace because their colleagues are welcoming and understanding.
To enable companies to create a truly inclusive workplace for people with disabilities. In our training videos, we teach people about these different disabilities and how they can affect someone's ability to do their job or communicate with others.
For example, we might show someone how to communicate with a person who is deaf or hard of hearing, or how to help someone with Autism feel more comfortable in the workplace. We want to make sure that everyone has the support they need to do their best work and feel like they belong.
Donations to Positive Work®
All donations to Positive Work® go towards providing high-quality training; awareness campaigns- resources, conferences, & fundraisers; to businesses, organizations, managers, and employees who work with people with disabilities. Any amount and all donations will help us continue to advocate for and support individuals with disabilities.
